Kevin stared at the strange package that had been delivered to him. It was a plain brown envelope with something bulky in it. His name was inked across the front in flowing script, like it had been written by someone educated a hundred years ago -- or maybe a girl.

White mocha in hand, he sat down to contemplate who had sent the package. "Well, it wasn't Toby," he mumbled. Toby might write like a girl, but this definitely wasn't his penmanship.

Whoever it came from, Kevin decided not to open it in public as it was probably something naughty. The edges of his lips quirked upward as he found something new to contemplate.

[ooc: This will be Kevin's last open post in Fandom! He doesn't know that, of course.]

Kevin was sweeping, he wasn't washing the windows or playing on the computer or tying to make sense of some of the pieces in the exhibit. He was just sitting there, staring at the floor.

Occasionally he would reach up and wipe at his eyes, but mostly, it was just staring. One thing was certain: if that Lee dude walked into gallery right now, he would go ballistic.

The gallery was open!

There was a duffel bag and an extra surfboard chilling in the sand. Kevin was out riding a wave, a small one, but you wouldn't know if from the way he was yelling in exhilaration.

[ooc: Kevin is here for Cal, but it's an open beach!]

Kevin was sitting behind the desk touching his nipples. The chill air on his walk over had caused them to tense up under this thin t-shirt, and he thought it was really cool. He might have to visit Toby later and see about getting a sweater or something.

There was an exhibit to sweep and some windows to clean, but he would put his shirt back on and get to that later. "Nipples are awesome," he declared, so easily amused.

The past few weeks of work were finally coming to a head, and Charlotte was both nervous and excited and getting herself worked up into a frenzy with making sure everything was perfect. She couldn't help feeling an overwhelming sense of satisfaction with the exhibit, though. The turnout wasn't huge, but nicely manageable and thankfully not small by any measure. Some of the work was a bit amateurish, but she had to admit to being pretty blown away by a few of the others.

By the time eight o'clock rolled around and the doors were open, the gallery was set up in a display of the pieces by artist, and the usual spread of treats and drinks were available in another area of the room. Charlotte, dressed in a vibrant red, milled around the gallery to make sure everything was in order and all the guests were enjoying the exhibit. She was also keeping an eye out for the artists of certain pieces, since she was very eager to potentially meet them.

The Community Showcase Exhibit was open!

[[ or will be, once I get the very extensive OCD up! It's up! Enjoy! ]]

Kevin wasn't exactly sure what he should be doing at work today, so he decided to pretend to be a carpenter. It took him a while to located the small toolbox that had everything one might need to hang art. Grabbing the hammer, some tiny nails, a level, and a small block of scrap wood, he went back to the desk to practice his skills. He also took his shirt off, because all good carpenters worked shirtless.

There was a poster:

Kevin had found a broom last week, so he thought he would do some actual work today and sweep the gallery.

He got about as far as the reception desk before deciding to take a break and look at pretty pictures on the internet. The broom was quickly forgotten.

The exhibit floor really wasn't that dusty anyway.

Open!

Lucas arrived at work late.

And shirtless.

It wasn't his fault the seagulls attacked and took his shirt away from him. He was lucky not to have been injured in the process.

Kevin wasn't in the best of moods today. That book he had read, well, flipped through, written by the afro dude had said that art could make you happy. Today, looking at the exhibit, all Kevin could see were man parts.

Being single sucked.

The gallery was open.

Kevin was relaxing in the surf. The waves lapping up against him were nice, and he didn't particularly care that his jeans were getting wet.

He was missing the cove, and missing Toby much more than he cared to admit. Things seemed simpler there, much less complicated. But maybe he was just a touch delusional. After all, he thought to himself, it's not like anyone here had turned him into a zombie sex slave. Yet.

[Open like nature!]

Liir was rather perplexed by all the citrus fruits.

For one, they tasted like actual citrus fruits. That had been his first test, the first thing he'd tried. It had also been a very good breakfast.

Then he'd tried to figure out when he might have picked up enough information to make other citrus fruits. Because it wasn't as if it was out of the realm for him to do magic while not meaning to. He'd done it while asleep before.

As it was, though, he just decided not to think too much about it and made sure to use today's bounty towards some delicious food.

[no ocd today]

Kevin spent a long time this morning looking over the exhibit. After staring at a particular piece for about half an hour, he finally nodded and said aloud, "Oh, I get it. It's like graffiti, but it's art."

Now if he could just figure out why.

[ooc: In and out all day! SP is love.]
[identity profile] my-tragic-past.livejournal.com
Kevin was bit late in opening up the gallery today. He had been so caught up in checking out the new students, he kind of forgot what day it was.

The exhibit hadn't changed from last week, and he still wasn't sure what it was about.

Open!
[identity profile] my-tragic-past.livejournal.com
Kevin was trying to brush up on his art smarts. He had a book and he was going through reading the captions on all the pictures.

The exhibit was still looking like it looked. He guessed that was a good thing.

[ooc: AKF most of the day, OCDless, mod away!]

Kevin was totally digging this exhibt. It kind of reminded him of some of the stuff Van did, but better. A lot better. Not that he would ever say that to Toby. He was sure that as far as lesbian occult artists went, Van was probably in the top half... at least.

This stuff was just cool.
[identity profile] my-tragic-past.livejournal.com
Kevin was pretty sure he had just witnessed a downpour of Hot Tamales. He kept wandering over to the door to look up at the sky, intent on seeing whatever it was that was flying over the island and dropping all this candy. Seeing nothing, he would sigh, open the door enough to reach out and grab a handful of the sweet stuff, and then go back to the reception desk.

The York Gallery was open!

Book Haven, Monday

The pastries that Seregil set out for customers today were crossiants and eclairs in honour of their location. After getting that and a pitcher of iced tea all ready, he settled down behind the counter with a book he found on the shelves called Les Miserables.

It was a theme thing.

The Book Haven was open.

Being his first day on a new job, Kevin thought that it would be a good idea to take some time and get to know exactly what it was they were selling. He spent some time walking through the exhibit, carefully looking at each piece. He didn't really see the appeal, but it was expensive stuff, so he figured it was good. Every so ofter, he would glance around to make sure no one was looking, reach out and touch a sculpted butt or boob, and giggle quietly to himself.

This job wasn't so bad, he decided, even if he did have to wear a shirt all the time. He had gone with the doubled up polo today, hoping to impress his new boss.

Charlotte couldn't have been in a better mood when she came down to open the gallery today. Well, she could have, but, for all intents and purposes, it was a good thing she wasn't because anything more would have just been a little frightening.

The current exhibit was still up and showing, although Charlotte was a little sad that it no longer seemed as thematic, and there's also a tasteful sign in the corner of the window advertising openings in employment.

The York Gallery is open.
