Lydia had found herself having to choose between El Burrito Loco and Taste of Thai for tonight's meeting of the Supper Club, and she knew from Professor Raiden's class last week that Mexican cuisine was often rather spicier than she enjoyed, so she had decided upon Thai food instead.

Boy, was she in for a surprise.

Welcome to Supper Club, everyone! Taste of Thai is open!

Just as they'd planned in yoga class, Gladio swung by Nell's around seven to pick her up...not literally, although that would have made for a pretty interesting stroll over to the restaurant, one he was pretty sure neither of them would have minded too terribly, but they both made the journey on their own two feet. No guarantees for on the way back, though. He also wouldn't rule out either of them eating so voraciously that needing to be rolled back would be an option, as well.

He'd dressed simply, but effectively, in that button down that seemed to just work pretty nicely for occasions like this, and figured the best direction for food would be somewhere to prove that he could appreciate all noodles pretty easily, not just of the CupTM variety, and he figured the promise of potential spice wouldn't hurt, either, so Taste of Thai it was.

And when they were lead to a table, of course he was going to do the gentlemanly thing by pulling out her chair for her before settling into his own, leaning forward on the table a little with a grin. "Hope you're hungry," he said, "'cause I sure am!"

[[ Gladio's obviously here with his softly modded date, but the post is certainly open for any other Thai-food related needs! ]]

Lana and Steven agreed on a number of things: the importance of knowledge, the inherent interest of languages, and that Marc really needed to get out more. So, having often indulged in the first two, she had decided to help with the third. It wasn't exactly a hardship (for her, at least) - she enjoyed their sparring, but conversation was also good. And food never hurt.

She'd suggested they meet, and let Marc choose the place, since her entire knowledge of "being kosher" was Wikipedia's article on it.

So here she was at Taste of Thai, dressed in Earth clothing, with her lightsaber in one of the purses that were apparently acceptable for women (along with some small bottles of rum, just in case).

Stark had tried not to worry about this impending date. Occasionally he'd succeeded. He just didn't have much experience with actual dates and had spent far too much time thinking about that fact, among other things.

He'd arrived at the restaurant earlier than necessary, been seated at the table, and immediately began fiddling with his silverware and napkin. He shouldn't be nervous about this. He knew that. And yet he was. This was fairly unfamiliar territory. But it was going to be fine. He hoped. There was no real reason for it not to be.

But he was Stark. He worried. So he was watching the door anxiously.

It was birthday week! Sure, Clint's birthday had kind of been taken up by defeating Krampus and evil toys and such, but that meant this was also a little bit of a celebration for the week.

Which was why when they went out for dinner after Kitty's class, she'd made arrangements to have dessert brought out, which was a cake reading "Hey, we're not dead yet!"

For many, many reasons with their lives, it paid to have a sense of humor about these things.

Okay, so... there was a kink in the plans that Norman and Tip had made at the stupid vampire movie party to hang out today, eat some food, maybe plot out some kind of webseries involving interviewing ghosts? But being different shapes really didn't change the fact that they could hang out and eat and chat, so their plans were proceeding regardless. And why not? Norman hadn't even bothered going to his class or to work earlier in the week, Tuesday had been a bit of a wash while he wrapped his head around the face that he kind of looked... a lot like he imagined Aggie would have looked, if she'd lived to this age.

It had been a weird week. Getting out and spending some time with a good friend would do him some good.

"So, we don't really have much Thai food back home," he noted, smiling across the table at Tip. "What do you recommend? The weirder, the better."

Norman could do weird.

Sure, Mike had already sent Brooke a dozen roses through that whole Student Council thing. But nothing had stopped him from giving her another dozen when he'd picked her up at her place. 'Cause a total of two dozen roses was at least adequate, as far as grand gestures went, right?

And just in case it wasn't, he'd also made sure to dress up. Dark suit and everything. And boy, he was glad to find out it still fit like a glove 'cause, uh, it'd been a few years since he'd last had an occasion for wearing it.

There'd also been a rikshaw drive to the restaurant. Which he didn't think was ideal, by any means. But it was very Fandom. Which seemed fitting, in its own way.

And now, they were outside Taste of Thai, and Mike had stepped off the rikshaw, and was holding out his hand to help Brooke do the same. "Here we are," he said. "I promise the restaurant's gonna be less bumpy."

Cassandra had not been this nervous about Garik since around this time last year, and she hated it fiercely. She had done nothing wrong. Garik's opinions might have been wrong, but he, too, had done nothing wrong. There was absolutely no reason for their association to feel as tenuous and fragile as it now did, and yet: it did.

Naturally, she arrived at the restaurant fifteen minutes early, wearing clothes she had switched out several times before finally saying to Hell with it and settling on a nice long eggplant sweater and loose trousers, hair loose, and... dithering. Largely with the hair, which got in the way and was irritating on so many levels. Why had she bothered? It was far more practical to keep it up.

Maker. And she was still standing outside the restaurant and Garik hadn't even shown up yet. How was she supposed to make it through the evening?

It was a miracle Liara had found the presence of mind to locate a restaurant that would suit her mother's tastes, let alone get there in time to secure a table. She had dropped items she was holding twice already out of sheer nerves - let alone ruminations on the ramifications that her mother's presence on a planet that was not yet spacefaring would have--

What didn't exactly help her nervous state of mind was the fact that every other person at the table did not seem in the least bit ruffled by anything that was going on. Not that they should be... ruffled. Except they should be. This was a strange and bizarre dinner and Liara should have never blurted out her invitation to this event to anyone, let alone several individuals.

She shoved a breadstick in her mouth before she blurted out something else - like Goddess or how have you been, Caius?

Her mother just smiled, like the strange, ethereal creature that she was and Liara could never aspire to be like in any capacity.

It wasn't like this was a serious date - Johnny went on tons of dates - but that was also the problem because he was clearly an expert dater, while Kira was on date number three or four of her life. For the first time in a while, Clint and Kitty were having a nice, quiet start to the week, with no threatening messages or running around in a foreign country trying not to get ninjaed to death. Going out to dinner together wasn't as much about celebrating that fact as it was about simply enjoying it.

"Why do all the good things on the menu have like, four peppers next to them?" he asked as they looked over the menus. "I just want to eat something good without burning my face off."

Pinkie had known it was love the first minute she saw him there in the park.

The teal deer didn't have the right kind of sentience to really recognize or appreciate love, but he was well into the fact that Pinkie Pie was very, very bad at shutting up.

". . . So then I said 'That's not my leg!' and the next thing I knew, we were engaged to be married!" She held the door open, her pupils turning to soppy hearts as she watched her new beau make his way into the restaurant. They never broke eye contact. "And, well, you should have seen the gang back in Ponyville trying to get me out of that one. It required, let's see. . . . Twilight's magic; Rarity's gift for fashion; three barrels of apples from Sweet Apple Acres; Fluttershy's badger friends; Discord, Lord of Chaos; Spike's dragon frenemies; Princess Luna; seventeen cherries; six timberwolves; a rubber ducky. . . ."

Yes, today was Labor Day and that meant no working for Bruce Wayne, Successful Business Tycoon. On the other hand, he could take a stroll around the empty businesses and evaluate locations for an office. Due to space issues, this meant that his options were essentially up and down Godiva Street. He did appreciate the thought of the office and the hotel having the Rocky Bits between them, and it would be near the abandoned warehouses, where any criminals who might end up in Fandom were likely to appear.

Deciding he was satisfied with him options, Bruce stopped over at Taste of Thai for a late lunch and a quick review of his options.

Clint and Kitty had made it to their first anniversary, officially. No more rounding up to it. Part of Kitty thought she shouldn't be surprised, since they were actually pretty good at dealing with things together, but when the last year had involved a variety of transformations, one psycho religious fanatic, tracksuited bros, a nightmare dungeon, fangirl-ordered cheating, freaking Madripoor, a sharknado and now winged vampires, among other things, she thought they should get to pat themselves on the back. And also, be amazed that they were still alive.

So tonight they were going to have night out, which meant Clint got her in a dress that really could have been longer except what was the fun in that, and they could have a nice normal date.

Albeit one where after the waitress took their orders, Kitty still said, "I'm reall glad nothing's trying to kill us today."

Fact: Natasha needed dinner. Other fact: Natasha couldn't cook. Well, she could microwave things and make eggs. That was about it. Cooking was simply not part of the standard assassin skill set, and she'd never been anything else, so there had never been opportunity for her to learn. And the SHIELD cafeteria was open twenty-four hours a day.

But now? Takeout. Lots of takeout, and thank goodness that for such a tiny island this place had a decent selection of restaurants. Today she felt like Thai, so she headed over there and placed an order for dinner--plus enough to reheat for lunch and dinner tomorrow. Mmm. Noodles.

After a night of relative quiet, Bruce was out again tonight. This time, though, it was a perfectly innocent follow-up date with a very nice, socially active girl he met at Three Minute Dates. Surely they would just talk about charity work and trying to make the world a better place. Surely there was no way that could possibly lead to anything other than the helping people.

Bruce waited for Britta at the Thai place, unaware that he was about to have a date with the Anti-him, and that if the date did lead anyplace, the world could potentially be in danger.

Even with no school, this had been a ridiculously busy week for Rinoa, what with fighting with breaking up with Squall since he was being a jerk, and then finding out Seifer was coming here, now, and letting him take her out to lunch. Which may or may not be a date, depending. It was a little soon to be dating but she could totally date if she wanted to, thank you very much.

This probably wasn't a date, and that was why she had a very casual sort of dress on. Nice, but not fancy or anything. So!

So. Here they were, at Taste of Thai. She should not be nervous about being on a not-a-date with her ex-boyfriend, should she?

So to be quite frank, John still didn't have a clue what was going on this weekend, beyond that he had, er, associated with rather a lot more attractive women than he was used to. It was such an association (though on the innocent end of the spectrum, darting glances notwithstanding) that brought him to the Thai restaurant tonight.

It was, after all, one of the places where he and Sherlock had most of their dinners. (Well, half of the time John had dinner, and Sherlock stared at walls, frowning until he had an answer to something, but it was the thought that counted.)

Now, all he needed was the attractive woman in question, peculiar as she might have been. He waited at the door for the occasion.

Cindy had taken care to dress nicely for her office hours, since she had planned to head directly to the restaurant after she closed up her office. "Table for two," she told the hostess on duty. "I made a reservation for Perrault?"

Hardly necessary, to be sure, but after the last dinner debacle when she couldn't get food from a restaurant for love nor money, Cindy wasn't taking any chances. She was more than gracious when the hostess excused herself to make sure the table was ready. If it wasn't, Cindy didn't want to know.

Comparing this dinner to any of the meals shared with Crane was almost a reflex, but Cindy shoved those thoughts out of her head completely. The last thing she wanted was to ruin what was sure to be a lovely evening with thoughts of Paris.

Fortunately, Warren hadn't found himself afflicted with Fandom's unique sense of humor today, and so he didn't have to worry about carting an annoying third party along with him to dinner this evening. As it stood, he was pleased to have Karla all to himself tonight, thank you, without a small horde of people tossing in their two cents at inopportune moments during the conversation.

And just to be certain that it would stay that way, he might have paid extra in advance to make certain that the tables near theirs were going to be empty, too.

Christian was at the restaurant he and Ariel had agreed on early -- he'd never keep a lady waiting. He carried a nosegay with stems wrapped in paper and had a partial manuscript tucked into one pocket, just behind the more practical notebook they'd need to talk. he was sure there'd be plenty of "talking" tonight; for one, he could not wait to tell Ariel how much her poem had meant to him.

Arthur had been succesfully distracting himself with thoughts of the general ridiculousness (and hilarity) of introducing dating as a cultural practice back in Camelot on the way to the restaurant. Images of noblewomen waiting in a long line outside watering holes waiting for a gentleman caller to arrive - would be downright perverted if spoken aloud, probably.

By the time he got there, that had faded away to an endless litany of statements along the lines of how the concept of being nervous was completely unapplicable and he was to cease it right now since there was absolutely no reason to be nervous. Man up, Arthur, it was Merlin of all people; his idea of having a good time was having a cuddle with a puppy followed by a fresh piece of bread for dinner and maybe an old fish if he was lucky.

Possibly ending in a flail about the mud, in complete disregard for the disgraceful state of his haircut (because how else were you going to explain the bowl?).

Being no afficianado of any of these activities, Arthur came to the realisation that this was not a smart track to go on if he was to dispell himself of the ridiculous notion that was any kind of anxiety on his part. He resolved to take it out on the waitstaff instead, and settled in to wait.

While the original plan had been for a night of drinking and just generally shooting the shit with Tyler and Ghanima, two things had occurred to Nathan.

First, that there were a wealth of places in town that weren't likely to be inundated with students on a Saturday evening, and that if they were going to be having an adults' night out, they might want to avoid the bar.

And second, that he was hungry, there was a place in town that served Thai cuisine, and that he'd never actually eaten Thai food.

He was feeling particularly adventurous this evening, and so he had flagged down his drinking buddies for the evening and redirected them to the Taste of Thai, where they could get just as drunk on Singha as they might have on whiskey elsewhere. Ah, multiculturalism.

"Now," he said, looking at this evening's partners in crime, "I suppose it boils down to figuring out the difference between the green and the matsamun curry..."

As she settled into a chair across the table from Chuck, it might have almost seemed like a normal night where there weren't mutant alligators outside that they had somehow, probably narrowly, missed entirely.

As normal as a day that involved Valentine being on a date could be, anyway.

She seemed to be doing well in acting like it was normal, too. She'd researched, a little, on how people usually dressed on dates, and followed the advice, and she was holding off on pointing out weak spots on the alligators that she and Dr. Brennan may have found earlier during the necropsy.

"So," she said, perhaps taking the normalcy a bit too far in seeming completely calm about the fact that there were alligators outside as she opened a menu (but that part wasn't exactly intentional), "I've never actually had Thai before, I don't think..."
