Tom was still snoring in the booth, unaware of certain happenings all over the island, or even that Makoto wasn't there for her shift. The waitstaff would occasionally check on him just to make sure he was still breathing.

There were about a dozen missed calls from Lynette on his cell phone that he was heedless of, along with a few each from Gabrielle, Susan, Bree and even Edie all trying to reach him, and one text message reading "TOM SCAVO ANSWER YOUR DAMN PHONE".

He was going to be in trouble when he went home tonight.

Pizza Planet is open, though the owner is still knocked out.

Apu opened the store. Simply because there seemed to be no one else to do it. Mr. Doom had been taken, which meant that he was not likely to show up for his shift today.

Mr. G'Kar seemed to be off doing other things. Which left only Apu to mind the store since half of his co-workers were elsewhere. Or elsewhen.

At least they had a plan to bring his boss back.

First thing Anders did when he got to work tonight was stake out a bottle of booze all for himself.

Well, no, okay, that was the third thing. The first thing was to duck the olive Tino chucked at him. "I'm gonna assume that one was more of a 'I'm glad you're still alive and not statue-disappeared' shot, but just this once, okay?" he said as he did the second thing, which was to put up a sign on the bar:

Free Booze for People Who Got Back and Blinkers and Rescue Mission-y People!

Jolee might kill him for this, but he figured they deserved it.

And then -- and then he staked out a bottle of ambrosia all for himself.

Spotters went out early in the morning, to pin down the location of the angels -- and keep them pinned down.

As the sun crept higher, the relay teams were sent out, each taking a place along their route.

Liir felt a curious case of deja vu. Here he was, after a great journey. After the loss of someone who meant so much to him.

Waiting in a cafe.

The differences, though, were important. For one, his hand was wrapped around the handle of the broom. For another, he knew that the person who meant so much would be back. And almost like history repeating, he knew Professor Ambrose would come for him.

His Scarecrow.

No, that was disrespectful.

His Father.

That had him smiling as he sipped at his hot chocolate, and though the smile didn't reach his eyes, that had nothing to do with Professor Ambrose and everything to do with the rest of this week.

After all that had happened the week before, those who were awake to see it would have groaned as a light appeared in the sky over Fandom. It had the shape of a pair of angel wings inside a giant alchemical circle and hovered there a moment, thundering slightly, before the center slowly dropped towards the ground like oil being poured in water.

It's passengers were left on the cold stones of the causeway in a heap.
