Whatever bout of Fandom strangeness was going on had completely passed Anemone by.

For once, she was not pleased about it.

Which is why she's grabbed a spot at Chilly Boulder with her sketchbook and colors.  If she doesn't get have to put up with children of her own, she's going to eat her ice cream and watch all the other make-shift families run around.

At least it was good entertainment.

It was a highly caffeinated Sean that opened the store. There wasn't enough caffeine in the world to deal with the ball of energy that was his child.

He got her set up behind a register -- what? She wanted to be with Daddy, not stuck in the office. And besides, she was just using that counter space to color. She wasn't actually using the register.

And then he took a spot at another register, wishing he could hide in the office all day.

[Wait for the OCD is up!]

There were no words for how grateful Makoto was that no children had appeared. All it would take would be one ‘Daddy!’ and ‘her’ entire secret would be out of the bag. Nonetheless though, a part of ‘her’ was almost… wistful.

Almost.

Today’s Special
Sweets
(Sugar cookie dough, chocolate chucks, and marshmallows drizzled with caramel and strawberry sauce)

Pizza Planet is Open.

The little tea luncheon that Charlotte always set up on Sundays at the Gallery that usually got ignored was getting more than enough attention today, thanks to the little Chinese girl who seemed absolutely in love with being all adorable and polite and serving the tea and nibbling the little tea sandwiches and being all cute and proper about it. It would seem that Charlotte's supposed adopted daughter was quite the little lady, which, really, only made sense. Charlotte watched little Shayla fondly as she babbled (a lot of it kind of incoherant, but Charlotte nodded along), long streams as she tried to sit nice and straight in one of the chairs in the reception hall, only interrupted by when the little girl wanted to run about the gallery and oooh and ahhhh at all the really big and prettiful, colorful pictures.

"Buh no tut-ching!" she reminded no one in particular.

The York Gallery was open!

In addition to the usual special that A.J. had when there was a weekend and there were children, his own or his classmates turned into children, either way, really, there was another one:

TODAY'S SPECIALS
PB&J with the crusts cut off

And a free milkshake to anyone under the age of 10!

No, he hadn't exactly checked with the Boss about whether or not that was okay, but, if Lacey did have an issue with it, he would be more than happy to reimburse her for them. It was worth it, because the whole point of the free milkshakes was that he intended to have a lot of extra milkshakes. He'd brought Aimee with him, to spend a good chuck of the day helping her dad at work before her mom came to pick her up to go shopping, and he was teaching her the Art of Milkshake.

Which, apparently, he already had, and Aimee was a pretty damn good little milkshake maker, but they were still having fun relearning.

Luke's is open!

Joanna hadn't noticed the increase of small children about the island. She tended to block out things that annoyed her.

Robin opened up the magic box and put a sign up in the window:

KIDS REMEMBER THAT MAGIC IS NOT A TOY.
PARENTS MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT SPELLS YOUR
CHILDREN ARE CASTING.
OR, TRYING TO CAST ANYWAY

The magic box is open.

Brianna had found her way to the park and sat Indian-style under a large tree. She closed her eyes and just listened. The more she concentrated, the more she heard. And distance was not a problem.

So busy testing her range, she completely lost track of all time.

(It's an open park at omg too early. But Brianna will be here for a while, if anyone wants to stumble across her.)

(and oops! I put the wrong day. *headdesk*)

Anders so felt weird coming to work tonight with two little girls hanging onto him, but he kind of had to. Luckily, Tino had put a couple of New Kids on the Block beach towels up over the liquor.

"Nostalgia at work there, Tino, or you just looking forward to the reunion tour?" he asked.

Artemis tugged at Anders's shirt. "Those look just like the ones you keep in the back of the linen closet at home, Daddy."

"Uh huh," Pandora chimed in. "You have Hanson ones in the study at home, too."

". . . we don't talk about that in public, girls."

And maybe that was why he threw himself so wholeheartedly into setting up the lounge for playtime before he opened the bar.

It was a nice enough day that Lucas and Jamie had gotten yet another set of double scoops and decided to walk through the park.

"Uncle Luke, can I feed the ducks my cone?" Jamie asked, face messy with chocolate, as they walked toward the lake.

Lucas didn't see any harm in stopping. "Sure thing, kiddo." He hadn't heard anything harmful about the ducks, and that was saying something in Fandom.

For Dean, the answer to entertaining two kids and keeping them (relatively) out of trouble was to take them to a pool hall. Or a bowling alley that had pool tables, same thing.

"So," he said, as they made their way inside, "We all understand the rules, right? No setting things on fire and no running off to face kelpies or gremlins or whatever."

Jake rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, Dad. We're not stupid. We know."

"Just making sure." Dean looked around. "What do you want to do first? Bowling, video games or pool?"

[ooc: Dean's here with his progeny, but open for all your bowling and pool hustling playing needs]

Fai was surprised at how quickly he'd adjusted to being Mommy. But then, he'd had some practice with Sakura and Syaoran...sort of.

The kitchen staff were still somewhat flustered, but the Cafe was running smoothly, as always. To make things easier for them, and in order to appeal to the kids in town, the special today was simple.

Today's Special
Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches

Fai was already feeding some to his own children. Yuui seemed more interested in getting jelly all over his face and fingers, almost finger-painting with it. Suwa, on the other hand, took tiny little bites, very careful to keep completely clean.

"You two are so cute," Fai commented, wiping jelly off Yuui's forehead with a napkin.

Faith and her father stood side by side, watching the ocean. "This is like meditating." he said. "Just with your eyes open and standing up."

"Okay so maybe I sort of like meditating. Ooh! Horseshoe Crab!" She darted off to examine her find.

When Meg suggested to Lilly that they have ice cream for dinner, Lilly's eyes lit up like it was Christmas morning.

"But you never let me have ice cream for dinner," Lilly said.

"Well, today's a special occasion," Meg said. "Okay, not so much a special occasion. But the last time I cooked for kids in this town I ended up smelling like syrup for a week."

That was good enough reason for Lilly. When they got to Chilly Boulder, Lilly decided to get a sundae with one of every flavor of ice cream and for some reason Meg allowed it. It came in a huge glass bowl with one of those long spoons that people put in root beer floats. Lilly was in heaven. Meg was just sitting on her side of the booth, sipping a milkshake. She didn't get her own ice cream since she figured Lilly was going to ask for help with hers eventually.

[Open for any ice cream needs you might have]

After getting off work, Robin went to the spot where he'd handwavily arranged to meet Brianna. He'd also advised her to wear clothes that she didn't mind getting dirty, and boots.

With an unexpected three kids for the weekend, it had taken a bit longer than planned to make it out of the apartment; neither Lulu nor Jean-Paul were familiar with exactly how many things one needed to do with a child, after all. Still, they eventually made their way down to the beach, Lulu carrying a basket, holding a late lunch picnic, hooked on one elbow, while she held Bell against her with the other arm.

"This should be nice," she said, smiling, as she laid down the basket. Putting Bell down to toddle around, with an admonition to stay close, she spread out the blanket from the top of the basket and lay down upon it. "A happy family, out for an afternoon at the beach."

[For the rest of the odd little family, but open for anyone who wants to come by!]
