When Tyl Mr. Durden (he was a teacher now, she should call him Mr. Durden) told Rikku yesterday that anger was energy, and she should use hers, he probably expected a more active outcome from that than Rikku ... writing letters. Then again, he didn't see the letters themselves, or the sheer volume of them that she intended to put out.

She could contact every single group in Spira - the old Crusaders, the Youth League, the Ronso, even the Guado, every freaking blitzball team, any clump of people she knew about - and invite them to start a discussion with her on Spira's future. And then send a few along to any prominent people she could think of, group or no. Even Gippal, dammit.

It helped that Cid was leader of the Al Bhed, and Rikku was his daughter. Signing letters with those two facts sure might sound like she had some sort of authority to speak for them, as a group, in negotiations. Oops!

The hell with it, if Pops wasn't going to step up and make things happen, then she would. And if she had to use his name to do it, so be it. She could yell just as loud as he could.

The Wellspring Arms was open, and Rikku was writing. A lot.

It had been a quiet week, and Ella was thoughtful as she let herself into the diner on time and made sure everything was ready for the day of service, then helped herself to a breakfast of a cinnamon roll and tea.

She decided to decorate the specials board, though she didn't actually draw expecially well so her attempt at a border of twining vines may have looked more like worms.

The diner was open.

Today's Specials

Cheese Fries

Not that Chad didn't believe in giving things up for your art, but he had to admit to be glad to being able to immerse himself in an art that was a little more comfortable than what fashion had proved to be yesterday. He sat behind the counter with his guitar, idly plucking along to the music between customers and other, most likely managerial business.

Today's Mix: Sex Blurred Weekend

No, the mix wasn't going to be applicable; it was just a good mix, dammit.

Groovy Tunes is open!

Gunther was wearing lederhosen. It was probably not a good idea to ask.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!
Today's Special

[No OCD! Mod your own service, please.]

Fai opened the cafe a little early today, then disappeared into the kitchen. He was in the mood to help cook. The specials board had been updated accordingly.

Today's Special
Fai's Chocolate Cake
(it's magically delicious!)

Mokona was proud of its sign-making abilities.

Jen would never let on that she'd seriously contemplated blowing off work to head out to Bali Hai, but every now and then she'd sigh a little bit and look out in the general direction of the causeway. And maybe try to get her visual scanners to work for a little bit (it was one of their bad days) so she could get a nice zoom-in view of that pretty, pretty coastline. So much nicer than most days on the Silver Hills coastline you know, the ones that didn't look like they'd been filmed outside L.A..

Dojima would probably be proud of her for thinking about it without prompting, she thought.

Today's Special
Sicilian-Style Pizza with Sausage

She resolutely ignored the snickering from the kitchen and made up her mind to go out there for that party tonight.

[OOC: And despite the fact that Jen would break all the rules to save the future, there is no world-saving OCD. *raspberries character*]

He'd brought a little container with the last of the soup for Millie, stashed it under the counter, and started neatening up the shop. Dusting, straightening, checking the books... he liked being a good employee and for Millie especially, so it was all done before it was actually time to open. At that point, he pulled out the tea and cookies, turned the sign on the door, and opened it to let in the warm breeze.

A book was pulled from the back for him to read. Once he had it, he took up his post behind the counter to wait for the customers.

The Book Haven was open.

Eve had gathered based on the flailing she'd seen Charlotte doing -- or what would have been flailing if Charlotte wasn't so dignified -- that it was the last week of the exhibit. Therefore she was behind the desk, doing whatever she could to keep things going smoothly like the good little receptionist she was.

[Wait for the OCD is up!]

After hanging up the banner for National Doughnut Day and setting out lots and lots of the sugary O’s, Sora sat on the counter fiddling with a journal that he’d been sent for his birthday from King Mickey and Jiminy. He wasn’t quite sure what to do with it, but they had said that since Jiminy wasn’t there to write everything down that he had to.

It wasn’t like this was a mission or something… right?

Still, nothing was worse than having Jiminy yell at him. Not even facing down an army of heartless. That cricket could be really scary at times.

“June 6th…National Doughnut Day! Worked in store. Apu got a new broom. Squishy bot continues to think I like weird flavors. Tried to give me catnip flavor. Changed it to Doughnut for the holiday.”

Today’s Squishy flavors: Red, Grape Judas, Doughnut

Kaylee loved her job, she did. But today she was bouncing somewhat antsily while she fiddled with a little universal remote she'd found, wanting to see if she could change the settings so it'd work on other things. She knew there was a thingie later that night, you see, and it was at the beach on that island and she was just awful excited to get off the island for a little while.

She'd heard there were gonna be dolphins! Which she, frankly, thought were extinct along with the whales. (Not that she knew what either one really looked like. But still!)

Stark Industries, however, was totally open, and she would be delighted to help anyone who needed it.

Sarge Grumpy Old Boss told Donut he had to work tonight so here was Donut. Working. Just like he was told to do. Tino was less than pleased with having to deal with Donut twice in one week. Tino would just have to deal with it because Donut always did what Sarge Grumpy Old Boss said.
