Murdock was at the lighthouse fairly early, not too long after dawn, actually. He hadn't slept too well and finally figured he might as well get up and do something.

Now that he'd gotten the wires traced out, he needed to replace them. They might be good, but he wasn't willing to risk that hundred year old (or older, really he had no idea) wiring could withstand a power surge.

And around here, there were plenty of things liable to cause a massive electric charge. Unwelcome island guests, for instance.

So today, the inside of the tower looked like jungle city, with wires dangling from the light room at the top all the way down to the bottom as he worked at replacing the old wires one by one.

And yes, of course he'd cut the main power to the tower. He was crazy, not stupid after all.

Katchoo wasn't in the habit of supplying her own coffee on her way in to work in the mornings, but then she wasn't in the habit of getting accosted by squirrels and yelling at Arthur a lot during the late hours preceding a work day either.

Today was going to be another one of those earned hangovers.

Aw, hell. It had been kinda fun, actually.

. . . Coffee was good.

This was about the extent of Katchoo's thought process this morning. Give her time.

[OOC: Just drop off the key, Lee, and get yourself OCD-free. Open! Bear with my lack of response while I'm heading to work though. ;)]

Sure, there was a computer at the hotel, but Valentine had brought her laptop with her to work anyway. That was probably going to be what happened from here on in. Lugging around a piece of personal computer equipments was just more of a natural state of being.

When she got in and settled behind the desk, Gunther asked what the specials were going to be and she just shrugged and said, "I don't know; you tell me." Which seemed fair enough, considered he was the chef, but he got a little huffy about it today, and didn't tell her, as if she couldn't see it being written on the board.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!

It was really dumb to feel complimented by ‘keep on being useful, Ino’ but she was and it almost was enough to make her stop cringing at the radio when Katina had mentioned the whole Edward and her singing bit.

Because, ow. Ino was trying to pretend she hadn’t promised and radio went and declared it. Ow. It'd be even more ow if she knew what Edward was doing with himself today.

But she didn't (which was lucky for Edward!) And so Ino was fussing over her plants with an intensity that they didn’t normally deserve and the radio was very very off.

Wellspring Arms is Open.

Luke's Diner - Wednesday

Yeah, it was one of those days. Johnny was playing with fire. Shuddup. He could if he wanted. Besides, he helped the cook by boiling huge pots of water in record time.

He was good for something.

Next up? Flickering fireballs throughout the diner. Heads up, people.

Just sayin'.

Today's Special
Spaghetti & Meatballs
Garlic Bread'
Salad

Luke's is open.

Amber was in an awesome mood. Her 2nd period TA position did that to her. So she was perfectly cheerful as she settled behind the counter, straightening this that and the other and oooh, what is...

She gasped. There was a magazine under the counter. And not just any magazine. That kind of magazine. But whatever. It had obviously been misplaced.

Totally meant she could read it, right? Certain articles were educational and she'd be telling herself that all day.

There is nothing on sale today and if you don't like it, take it up with... someone who isn't Amber.

The Gig, Wednesday [5/27]

It was misting outside, but that didn't seem to bother Gwynn as she took care of each of the horses.

After she fed them and cleaned out their stalls, she turned her attention to grooming them and rubbing them down. She gave them each a treat and she could now be found taking turns riding each of the horses to give them some exercise.

She thought this was the best job ever.

The Gig is open.

Shilo had stopped to get a coffee, so she was later than she meant to be in arriving at the gallery. But Charlotte wasn't angrily waiting at the door with one designer shoe rhythmically tapping the floor, so she figured it wasn't a problem. This time, anyway.

She swept the floors, and then went to the desk and pulled out her laptop. And decided to goof off on the Internet, in order to keep herself away.

[Rain, rain, leave me be, today there is no OCD.]

Claire got to work and decided to read some old Y-People comics at the register today.

She would be glad to help anyone who stopped in though.

Joan was still in a somewhat cranky mood about everything that had happened yesterday when she arrived at work.

But she amused herself by decorating the sign outside with new flowers.

MCA Lobby - Wednesday

Rusty was in a good mood today. He had some money riding on the Pittsburgh Penguins and they were doing really well.

Plus he was hanging up fliers to let his residents know that he was hosting a cookout this Saturday on the roof (weather permitting). If it rained, the cookout would move to the holosuite.

Tyler ended up teaching a Pilates class this morning. He had no idea what he was doing, but as long as he said a lot of perky things about "keep your core strong" and "tight abs, ladies" none of the NPCs in the class seemed to notice any difference.

He couldn't decide if he was proud of himself or deeply ashamed as he wandered back to the reception desk at the gym, so he settled for feeling neither and paging through an equipment catalogue as he watched for any trouble.

Groovy Tunes, Wednesday

[identity profile] notyourpawn.livejournal.com
Alice was setting up croquet hoops around the store -- and a few leading up the stairs and onto the roof, and back once more, because croquet was no fun at all if it was played within the store limits itself.

She didn't place any hoops too near the good music. She considered placing one over the rack that held Creed, but croquet balls never went where one aimed them, and a hoop near Creed might spell disaster for Cream or Cibo Matto.

"These are hardly proper croquet mallets," Alice noted, eying one, "but they'll do. Shall I explain the rules?"

(Open, as Groovy Tunes is, although that question is directed towards a specific person who is playing croquet with her today. Though they might be induced to allow others to join.)

Today? Today was a good day to be a lawyer, because today, Alex was researching case law and actually being a lawyer. Okay, it wasn't a courtroom, but she was going to take what she could get.

After spending last night in the mind of a teal deer, Esme went to the common room, got a bowl of milk, and took it outside to the preserve. She found the area she remembered best from last night, set it down, and then stepped back.

That was the thing with Borrowing, you always had to give back.

She didn't worry about checking to see whether it would come around, or she might as well be waiting all day. Instead she just turned back to head to the dorms, figuring it'd finds its way. She'd be back for the bowl later.

[Establishy, but open if you happen to be around.]

Caritas - Wednesday

The first thing Penelope noticed tonight when she came in was the band. They were all sporting super huge, bejeweled sunglasses. The music seemed to fit.

It was just cause for a beer. Or two.

Caritas is open.

[[OOC: For speedy service, mod Tino, otherwise I will be around about 9pm EST Nevermind, dinner plans changed. Am here.]]

Naomi arrived to work on time for her shift, making sure that everything was set up before she opened.
