The Gig, Sunday

Firekeeper was still in a rather good mood from the dance last night. Especially since she hadn't had any of the spiked punch, so obviously there was no hangover to be seen.

Blind Seer was once again at her side, in a good mood from his night which had been spent hunting in the preserve.

As usual, the pair could be found out in the paddock with the horses.

Why had she agreed to do this again?

Oh. Right. Because she'd been insane last night and decided that she'd needed something utterly ridiculous to distract her from, well, that whole leaving bit. Stupid leaving bit. People shouldn't be allowed to go.

She gave the table set up with drinks and food a considering glance, wondering if she had time to snag a glass of something before Edward (who was arranging the last of the flowers and the platform to his satisfaction) made her get up there and sing.

Again.

Nevermind that it was her suggestion this time. Sort of. Maybe. All his fault, actually. Really. Honest!

Ino cast a look over the park, and wondered how many people would show up this time. Joy.

[Edward modded with permission, naturally! Wait for the OCD is uuuup!]

Veronica convinced Piper to leave Lindsey at the apartment for an hour so the two of them could do some actual catching up.

They settled in to a corner table with lots of coffee and muffins for some serious BFF time.

[V is here for Piper and one other but feel free to use the post for your own J,GOB needs!]

The picnic shelters were decorated with gold streamers, of both the crepe paper and shiny metallic sort, and the appetizing scent of breakfast foods grilled by NPC staff filled the air. Bright summer flowers were draped over anything you could drape bright summer flowers over, with far less subtlety than there'd been at the dance, since this was out in the open air and people could get away from them if they so chose.

The sounds of summer in musical form -- not chosen by the provider of the flowers, no -- played lightly in the background.

[OOC: OCD is up, post is open, plaaaaaaay!]

Cafe Fina, Sunday

Naturally, the dishes had been listening to the radio, last night.

This, of course, meant that they were going to make lewd comments in Zack's general direction. They had a betting pool going, to see who could make him crack first.

Today's Specials:
Have some Sex on the Beach to wash down your Sex in a Pan!

The cheese grater came out victorious today, with a witty remark about roller skates that best never be repeated.

Poor Zack.

[OCD coming up! Fina is open!]

Parker had stayed away from the dance last night. So she was staying away from the brunch, too. Antisocial? Sue her.

She left a couple text messages for friends to let them know where she was, and settled in with a cocoa.

[ooc: expecting a few, but open to talk to Parker, and for all your coffee needs.]

Ben opened the store today despite being tired and kind of annoyed. He thought he had bonded with the squirrels those times he did radio. But last night they betrayed him.

And thus there were no specials in the store today. Just a shopkeeper drinking coffee.

Biff was only a little hungover from last night, but he was taking the excuse to sit behind the desk, flip through a magazine and space out.

What a conscientious employee he was!

When Jolee got to the bar, the first thing he did was put up a sign saying "For Sale."

When he stepped inside, the first thing he saw was Tino wearing a party hat. "I'll miss you too, Tino," he said.

[OOC: This will be Jolee's final post in Fandom. I am around!

The next owner will buy the place soon. Until then, Tino's in charge.]

It was empty. Other than some dust and cobwebs, the place really didn't have much. For several minutes, Aphrodite simply leaned against a wall and imagined. She saw a grand fountain, a golden arch for the entrance, beefcakes dancing on pedestals, and sultry women in flowing gowns to help people find their heart's delights.

Then she opened her eyes and saw what was there. "Well. No room for a fountain, can't fit an arch in that entrance, and Cupid would kill me for the dancers. But," she tilted her head and smiled, "won't take much to set this place up."

First thing was to lower the shades. Then she could work without an audience.

And work she did! Walls lost their off white paint jobs and turned a light pink. Ugly brown carpets became a bright white shag. Shelves appeared, display cases grew out of the floor, clothing racks dropped down. There were mirrors near the clothes racks, and posters between cases.

Aphrodite hadn't even moved from her spot against the wall. The whole set up had taken maybe two minutes, and instead of wiping sweat from her forehead, she blew fake smoke off her index finger.

Inventory began to appear. Lingerie, in styles politely termed racy; magazines and books; a few videos; novelty items; and greeting cards that should not be sent home to Mother.

And then there was her favorite area. The things there made Aphrodite smirk. They would make others blush.

To make sure people knew she was there, she traced the name of the store in the window, then blew on it. The letters appeared, flipped around so they could be read outside, and adhered themselves to the window.

"That oughta do it." She nodded, reaching to raise the window shades. Once they were up, she opened the door. "I'm missing something. Ah!" A snap of her fingers and a placard appeared in her hand. One side said Closed and the other Open. She carefully placed it in the window, the Open sign facing out.

"Time to sell some stuff. Come on in, Fandom!" And she settled in a chair behind a counter, smiling, totally forgetting that there was no cash register in the store.

(OOC: It's open! That's for broadcast, but how it happened is NFB. Remember, she's still in disguise!

From now on the hours will be from 1pm to about 9pm. Tonight is just to get the store open and let people know it's there. No spells, but 'Dite would love to fawn over her first customer!)

Glinda had been out for a walk around the park when the small green thing, carrying a tub of detergent, emerged from the bushes, bit her on the ankle, and then deposited the washing powder in her hands.

A moment later she somehow had produced a small TV studio set, complete with stained clothing and rug, and was yelling at any passing by about if they called now, she would double the offer.

[Open to any. Sadly, a tribute to the man. Seriously you guys, we need to stop losing celebrities, it's not cool.]
