Really, Tony should be taking care of some of the paper work from The Day People Sang And We Don't Talk About It, but he was procrastinating that for as long as possible. Okay, so he already had it done, he was just waiting for Agent Cooper to ask for the information like Gibbs did.

...which wasn't the most normal of approaches, but he was bored, damn it.

Crumpled up paper basketball was ranking high on the list of things to do today.

Ino, as Arthur had so eloquently put it, was rather still In A Mood.

Not that it stopped her from coming into work, fussing with her plants, and then curling up in Cable-san’s chair. She pulled out a scroll and a notebook and settled into study it with an intensity that she didn’t generally bother with on Fandom.

After all, she told herself savagely, it wasn’t like it mattered here.

Joan was talked to Penelope (who was still a piglet) as she took care of the plants and flowers today.

"I don't think it's a date," she said. "It's just ice cream, right? But it doesn't matter. Hanging out with friends is always good. I'm going to have to leave you at the cabin though since we're flying to town."

Penelope seemed more interested in playing with some potting soil than listening to Joan. But the flower shop was open.

Liir was somewhat worried.

There were, of course, two things to worry about. One of them was his excursion with Joan scheduled for tomorrow. That was a pleasant enough worry, a little playful gnawing of the gut with a side order of scribbling in his notebooks various ideas of what he should wear that would be appropriate to such a thing and if he should bring something for her.

The other worry was darker in nature and wasn't enjoyable at all, something he felt he could not act on, only wait and worry in a desperate attempt not to make matters worse.

Either way, though, there was work to be done and food to be prepared and Liir, mind elsewhere, decided on simple, familiar dishes for the day.

Morgan liked to think he was a reasonably intelligent man. He liked to think that he had a reasonable temper, that he was friendly and decent, and that he had a good understanding of how computers worked.

"Mother !@#$ing Vista!"

...Morgan's printer did not agree with him on at least two of these points.

"What do you want? You want me to sing? You can sing, and not save any of my files, but you won't recognize my printer. Great. Just great."

The record player was still shut, it's lid firmly immovable for the time being. Although the quietness of the lobby was getting to Rachel, she would suffer the silence if it meant being able to avoid any undue singing and dancing.

One day, maybe she'd get over last week, but it was unlikely to be any time soon. In the meanwhile, though, she was just going to sit behind the desk of the lobby with a stack of modern women's magazines and celebrity tabloids, reading up on everything important to know in modern society in lieu of paperwork for the apartment, and feeling very impressed with the direction that Cosmopolitan had taken since the Sixties. This magazine was amazing!

Gunther seemed in a good mood today, a good mood for existing in a world all his own in the kitchen, which meant that Valentine was left undisturbed and free of grammar tests in the lobby, which suited her just fine. That just meant she could get a good start on her next book.

Because that's just what the world needed. Valentine Wiggin, reading another natural history on something she already uses expertly to her advantage.

Aphrodite was smiling. There was a wedding invitation for the goddess of love, which seemed to her rather appropriate. She couldn't wait to meet the happy couple.

"Ooooh, this means I have to think wedding presents. Hm. They're mortals, so I have to think mortal gifts. No stars or magical stuff." She tapped the invitation against her chin as she thought. "Diamonds, emeralds -- sapphires? No, gems are better for anniversaries." She shook her head. "I'll have to think about this. I mean, what would the goddess of love give as a wedding present in the 21st century?"

With a sigh, she set the invitation aside and stared at the phone.

"I should call Cupid."

But she didn't pick up the phone. Another sigh. "Oh, fine. It took me three thousand years to develop a conscience and now it won't leave me alone."

When she did pick up the phone, it was to call two other people, letting them know she was going out of town and would be back soon. She hoped Cupid didn't mind her sudden appearance, and that Ares was truly busy in South America as her son had told her.

Calls finished, she began going through a catalog. "Oh, those are so cute! Wait." And she smiled a little wickedly as her wedding present dilemma was solved.

Castiel had an appointment with Chuck Bass to hear confession. As this was not actually something Castiel had experience with, he'd spent much of the day before preparing, looking up what traditions mankind had brought to the act, wondering just what the heck they thought saying any number of "Hail Mary"s was supposed to do for them, and generally just being baffled by human organized religion in general.

He'd forgotten to check on the actual physical location, however. And the left confessional was still leaking.

Well. Perhaps Chuck wouldn't notice?

[ooc: Open! And hey, let's go with contents of a confession around here being NFB. Though the actual showing up at the church is totally free game. . . .]

Shilo had gotten to work this morning completely on time only to find that some of the island's squirrels had decided to break in during the night and host their own art show.

"C'mon, get lost!" she protested, trying to chase them off with the broom while they hurried to rescue their tiny paintings and plates of hors d'oeuvres. "I'm trying to open the gallery! Get out of here!"

After a half-hour, and a tiny bottle of red wine spilled, Shilo had them all gone, and was now cleaning up the gallery floor. This could take a while.

Alice was halfway through the Ts, and wondering now what she might do during her shifts once she'd finished the alphabet. It wasn't that there wouldn't still be hundreds upon hundreds of CDs she had yet to explore, but she'd need to find a new system. Something elaborate, perhaps. Roll a dice to select the row, then spin until she found the correct letter ...

She had until Z to think of something.

Tino was manning the bar tonight. He was enjoying the freedom by, well, by getting drunk. How else were you supposed to spend time in a bar?
[identity profile] irulan-atreides.livejournal.com
Irulan was humming, for one she received Charlotte's invitation to the wedding and for the other her stepson was no longer a tree. She felt this a cause for a celebration.

This meant she would be sending Leto a hat and Ghani too, just because.

Dani was feeling restless. She could maybe peg it down to going to the bar and never buying a drink or maybe it was because she was starting something new.

Whatever the case, Dani was restless.

So here she was out in the park, running. It's her third set and it didn't look like she was slowing down or stopping.
