It clearly wasn't a good day when Mary was hiding in a supply closet with a tub of chocolate mousse. Gunther and the sous chef were both at the front desk, with Gunther whispering something about PMS.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!

Most of the Café Fina staff had gotten over Lion-o's rapid growth spurt. The exception was the cheese grater, who kept mentioning how muscular Lion-o had gotten. It was going to take a little while before Lion-o stopped feeling so awkward about all the attention.

Loki was having Fritos for breakfast. Sure, they weren't filled with vitamins and nutrients his body didn't fucking need at all but they were really goddamn good. They were also the only thing he had left in his apartment.

He really needed to go shopping.

But, for now, he'd take the Fritos and he'd eat those Fritos while sprawled in the comfortable lobby chairs, feet up and eyes closed. Of course, you wouldn't be able to sneak up on him today since he was fucking eating even if he did have his eyes closed. He was a multitasking master.

It was almost pleasant, thinking about how her week had gone, and Hinata silently contemplated her written out plan in-between eyeing the shelves and wondering what she ought to buy and wondering if she ought to pick something out to try-out with at the theatre. Hmm.

Bribery, if only on herself, was completely acceptable. Yei wound around her ankles, purring up a little storm.

Book Haven is Open.

Ino was starting to think that things were—okay. Or something like it. She wasn’t sleeping much better but whatever, she was young enough to adjust to that relatively easily and the extra time just meant she got more training done.

Clearly a win-win situation. Really!

Humming, she made herself a flower crown, and set about artfully creating messages out of arrangements.

Once Didi had put her encyclopedia's worth of paperwork in Turtle's office and checked to make sure everything in the store was more or less where it should be -- and Apu shooed her away from even doing too much of that -- she settled in behind the counter with a Disney princess coloring book and a pack of crayons.

She was using a lot of black. In her world, apparently, Cinderella was a Goth.

T&C was open. Today's Squishy flavors: Magic Pumpkin, Glass Slipper Grape, Red.

Geoffrey opened the door of the theatre with a breath out and a faint smile. A new play. A new start. A new... chance for all hell to break loose, but so be it. That's why he was in the theatre.
CASTING and CREW TRYOUTS for
A Midnight Summer's Dream
No experience necessary! Free food and drink at rehearsals!

This should be interesting.

[ocd up!][FAQ for the plays here, some other bits and bobs, and feel free to ask questions in the OOC.]

Fiona was glad to be at work, if only because she felt like doing something properly academic if only to shut Eliot up. One more text message about her 'easy' classes and she thought she might have to go visit him just to list of the madness she had to deal with on top of classes. He didn't have to deal with syrup from the skies!

Ellie showed up, tended to the horses, and then let them out into the paddock for exercise.

Kally, like usual, stuck her head over the fence so Ellie could pet her.

Raven was a little moodier than usual when she opened up the shop for the afternoon, due to the lingering discomfort from the guns in her morning class and her meeting with Illyria the previous day. Illyria recognized her as a demon, and while Raven had asked her not to reveal that to anyone, she could hardly trust Illyria to keep her secret.

Then she heard the mew of a little orange kitten as he trotted out from behind a shelf. "Hello, little one," she said, picking him up. "How did you get in here?" Purrs and scritches and cooing over a kitten definitely chased the emo away.

Decadent Delights was open.

[OCD was eaten by the kitten.]

Seeing Jaina dressed in black wasn't anything new. The face paint was, though.

So was the fact that she seemed to be trapped inside a box. You could tell, even though she wasn't saying anything, because she was placing her palms on the invisible walls and looking trapped. See, totes in a box.

[I got an extra icon slot, I had to go the mime route. So so open.]

There were a few ways in which Zayne wasn't ready for what was about to happen. First, he hadn't listened to radio last night. Second, he was just out on a walk, so who could have expected something ridiculous to happen? Third, the odds played out and Zayne did not, in fact, have a bad feeling about any of this.

And that's why Zayne was hit in the face with a platypus when he passed by the pet store's open door.

It took him a moment to get off the ground and figure out what exactly just happened, and in that time the platypus was making its way across Serendipity Place towards the water while the clerk at the pet shop threw a catapult out the door, destroying it.

"I think your... animal got away," Zayne told the clerk as soon as he was sure that the platypus was, in fact, some kind of animal. The clerk just cursed. And the platypus scurried off to freedom. There was probably a story there, but Zayne was pretty sure he wasn't going to be getting it tonight.

[OOC: Mostly establishy, but open to passersby. And Everything But the Monkey is, of course, open for all of your pet store needs.]

Marshall was not in WWE gear at work today. He was wearing regular clothes, thank you. It was bad enough he showed up to class wearing that stuff in the spring.

He did look good in those skin tight gold pants though.

So good.

Tim was a bit late opening the store today, but since he was the boss, he forgave himself.

He settled down with a trade paperback of the Death of The American Hero. How long had that lasted? A month?

Oh, somebody had heard radio last night.

Somebody was not pleased.

If you asked Clocky, this was a good thing, since it meant Katchoo had another target for her ire for once. Sure, Clocky was just about unbreakable according to all the evidence (said evidence being now-uncountable run-ins with Katchoo's feet and occasional flung objects), and not exactly sentient, but the sport just wore a little thin sometimes.

Katchoo wasn't much for sculpture, but that block of clay was a nice, convenient outlet today, even if it was going to leave the counter in a sad state.

She kind of liked the sound it made when she punched it. It squished really nice.

[OOC: Summer has come and passed, the OCD can never last. SP quite likely until evening EST. Rrr.]

Unlike other weeks, today there was a very large amount of food at the meeting. Pies and pudding--the kind people here liked, not the real kind--and what appeared to be eggs. Piled on the ground next to the food were a bunch of clean shirts, some of them still stained by paint.

Either it was time for a Rocky montage or something interesting was going to happen today.

"Welcome back everyone! Or welcome for the first time if you haven't been before."

Because there were so many new people with this last semester!

"We'll be following the example of yesterday's meeting with a different twist based on our skill sets. When there are... interesting rains of items how would we protect ourselves and others from harm? Some of us might be versed in shielding from attacks. This is a time to practice those abilities and perhaps teach others to do so as well," Merlin said with a wide grin.

Karla shared Merlin's grin, and would be humming "Eye of the Tiger" if she had any idea what it meant. Or that it existed at all.

"Fighting under less than stellar conditions is only good if it impedes your enemy more than you," she said, tossing an egg lazily in the air. "To our benefit, we know Fandom better and while we don't expect the crazy rains, we know they occur and won't waste a lot time being surprised if and one happens in conjunction with an attack. And while those are good benefits to have, we can always improve. Knowing such conditions are possible means that we know that's something we could--and should!--prepare for."

Merlin nodded seriously, picking up an egg as if to demonstrate something. Luckily he knew nothing about drugs and eggs and your brain commercials.

"So, we'll be practicing today." With that said, he slapped Karla on the back with the egg. "With a food fight!"
