...someone didn't get to go to NYC.

To be fair, the city didn't exactly hold particularly happy memories for him. Once you've seen enough people shot in subway stations on grainy security cameras, not to mention nearly had your teammate blown up, the place just didn't have the same kind of allure.

Surprisingly, the ambulance ride hadn't really been that bad.

Either way, he had work and the store was open for what few stragglers had decided to stick around. It even had a dog, since Morgan felt it was almost cruel to make Clooney stay in that cold old house by himself.

[open but ocdless for anyone who might still be haunting around!][all threads before the trip to the pet store/the vet]

When the Homer puttered back up to its docking slip, everything looked pretty much exactly the way it had before Jack left. The boat's clock had automatically reset itself, and it was saying that only three days had passed, which was just bizarre. Fine, then. The island wanted him back the same week he'd left -- he could live with that.

Unless the clock was lying to him.

Jack didn't care enough to bother finding out just yet. He sat out on the Homer's deck, bundled in a winter coat, and drank a beer. Because he COULD.

After a while he got up, put a hand-lettered sign on the dock, and then went to sit back down. It said:

Captain Jack's Wild Ride
Less of a run-around than you get from politicians, and more fun, too!

Castiel paused in the doorway of the pet store and looked around.

He'd had no idea that humans kept such a variety of animals as companions.

How on Earth would they find everything that Morgan and Dean had suggested he acquire for the Cat?

[ooc: Cass is here with Morgan, but open store is open, in case anyone is hanging about]

Jack opened the Imperial Brim and expected a quiet day. He started making resolutions for the upcoming year, trying not to think of the year it was back home.

[OCD is stuck in 1968.]

Millie was cheerfully organizing the new shipment of books. Which actually meant a great deal of time spent getting lost in reading snippets of each of them as she sat on the floor 'unpacking' the boxes.

Chuck wasn't going to the city until tomorrow (hi, he lived there, the shininess wore off long ago) and he was dying to get back to the bar to see how things had been handled the last few weeks.

Tino totally did a spit take when Chuck walked in.

"Gross," Chuck said. "Clean that. And clean the rest of the place too, while you're at it. Can't trust you to do anything right..."

And so Tino's reign as lord of the bar ended.
