Roy showed up to work on Saturday, ready to research some legal matters! Right after he finished this game of solitaire. Cabot & Associates is open.

((And I remembered to post one of my kids' jobs this week! Go me?))

Jaina had gotten back to Fandom yesterday. On the way over, she'd been looking forward to a chance to relax with normal weather, on a planet that wasn't a desert and that didn't have two suns.

She came back to this. You know what, fine.

When she got in to work today, she'd dressed like someone who was tired of the hot weather: tank top, shorts, strappy shoes that would make Rose proud because boots were not happening today. Tino had apparently thought much the same, because she found him standing behind the bar in board shorts, flip flops, and sipping on a pina colada with an umbrella in it. "...I'm not actually going to argue with that today," she decided.

After a conversation with Kitty earlier in the week about summer and beaches and partying in general, she and Warren had both agreed that throwing one such party as soon as possible would be a great idea!

And, while Warren hadn't really done this 'beach party' thing many times in his life, he'd decided to default to the tried and true, 'if it looks beach-like, spend money on it' strategy, just to be certain that he didn't mess this up. There was a cooler with assorted soft drinks inside, a BBQ and a small stack of hot dogs and hamburgers, there were salads and there were chips and, heaven help him, he'd invested in a beach volleyball net. Because if there was one thing that television had taught him about these things, it was that an afternoon on the beach wasn't complete without a rousing game of beach volleyball while played to a rousing montage of 80's rock on that handy portable radio he'd bought.

Yep. Beach volleyball. Probably shirtless. Or at least in bikinis.

... Look, he was a teenage boy. He was allowed to have some wishful thinking at least sometimes, right?

[Open! Random beach party for the sake of partying on a beach, anyone?]

Today, it seemed Gunther was in one of his typical bad moods. Good thing Ellie learned to tune those out awhile ago. It was important to stay focused on other things like checking people in and out of the hotel or providing extra towels if needed.

Mina hung a sign in the front MCA window that evening.

Help Wanted
Building Superintendent
Mechanical Experience a Must
Inquire Within

With that work done, she settled into a chair in the lobby instead of being seated behind her desk. Her life was so hard. Really.

[ooc: Open! Though the job is already claimed.]

"I don't know, little buddy," Sam frowned as he drew his gun. "This town looks pleasant enough, but when the sun goes down, the seedy underbelly comes out to cause mayhem."

"Oooh! I like seedy underbellies," Max said. "Poppy seeds?"

"Occasionally watermelons," Sam said. "You get past that husk, and there are seeds everywhere."

"I don't think it matters what kind of underbellies they are," Max mused. "So long as they're ours."

"Want to fine some unsuspecting citizens?" Sam asked.

"Don't I always?"

(OOC: Co-written with [livejournal.com profile] maxnotsam, natch. Sam and Max would like to arrest you on completely trumped-up charges, or fine you for horrendous ones they just made up. Don't worry, they never really manage to arrest people, generally because the citizens go "No, I'm not under arrest. This is stupid." Who wants to be crazied at?)

Marcus was blue today.

No, not depressed or down in the dumps, but actually blue. He hadn't woken up that way; it had happened the moment he'd walked through the junkyard's gates.

Which was only fitting, given the entire junkyard was also blue: different shades, from palest eggshell to deepest royal, but everything was some variety of blue. And glowing slightly.

It was weird, but Marcus couldn't be bothered getting annoyed. If this was the worst thing the island felt like doing, he wasn't going to complain.

[Blame Avatar and the fact that it stars Sam Worthington as one of many blue people. If your character comes into the junkyard today, they will temporarily turn blue for the duration of their visit.]
