Lacey did not want to talk about Friday in any way, shape or form, so of course it was the first subject that came up when the busboy arrived, and Lacey, being a horrible liar, was unable to avoid it.

She also blustered so much that by the time the rest of the staff was on hand and the story had gotten around, it had been mangled enough that no one could decide if she'd been a stripper, a groupie, or if she'd gone and gotten a dozen piercings they couldn't see. This, luckily, meant that no one questioned the need to wash, dry, and put away the rest of the new set of dishes that'd been necessary to order after some random, bizarre Fandom incident left the diner with half its plates and mugs smashed by a sledgehammer on Saturday morning.

Whew.

Claire was in a pretty good mood today since she had actually gotten to sleep in her own bed last night. The cabins weren't terrible, but she preferred the dorms.

Thanks to her good mood, she was spending the day cleaning the shop. It was amazing how much dust accumulated in just a few weeks.

She'd be happy to help anyone who stopped in though.

After waking up on Saturday with cotton mouth, a severe case of the munchies and an insane amount of embarrassment, Ashley had spent the rest of the weekend hiding out in her apartment.

This morning she was at work and taking advantage of the punching bag.

It was just a Monday. A typical, normal Monday...

...wedged between an absolutely abnormal Friday and the start of That Time of the Month.

Angua was doing just fine, just fine. If you counted just fine as driving heavily into work and not paying attention to anything except the warm embrace of her coffee if she could help it.

With one hitch. Occassionally, she'd come across a paper, blink at it, gingerly lean in to sniff it, and then look almost piteously at Ralph. "Ralph, this wouldn't happen to be one of the files from Vimes' office, would it?"

It would.

The file hit the desk with a resounding smack; Angua's chair scraped against the floor. The coffee mug paled in her deadly grip.

"I'm taking a coffee break."

Again.

The job took an odd turn for Gunn today. Not because some demon creature had ransacked the building and tried to attack him as he came into the office... No. Gunn would actually be able to handle that.

No, today Gunn got a modded note from Alex asking him to research annulment criteria for the state of Virginia. After spending two minutes staring at all the damn books that he thought he'd have to go through to find this information, he turned to his friend "Google" to figure out the basics.

Gosh, it was almost like he was working.

Jane was starting to think she was a lucky person.

While she hadn't really seen the whole...incident related with people suddenly acting in very odd ways, she had had the chance to spot one or two individuals being particularly strange; as the attentive and detail-driven sort of person she was, noticing the fact some quiet folks were suddenly noisy and extroverted, while their more obnoxious partners seemed to be quiet lambs was enough to make her double check she hadn't turn into some...scaredy middle class housewife. Well, she hadn't. Maybe she was lucky enough to miss the madness, but when she ran out of luck...well, that would be an interesting day.

With the canvas containing her developing sketch of her mansion resting on an anvil next to the counter, Jane peeked outside of the store, wondering what had just happened. It was none of her business in the end, but she felt slightly curious. Well, better get back to drawing. And managing the store, sure.

Strokes of Genius was open.

It was a lot quieter than last week, which was a relief. Makita was just going to nap on the counter, and try to forget the events of last Friday.

She'd been a pacifist. Ugh.

She'd get around to burning the ugly stuff eventually, but for now, the register made a great pillow.

After the insane weekend she had--which included getting up after her nap to thank Alex Karev and ended with her punching him several times--Karla was more than ready to get back into the nice, steady, non-crazy routine of the week. Looking forward to it in fact.

The first sign that all was not going to be regular or routine was the shock she got grasping the handle of the door. Rage, bitterness, and betrayal coursed through the that point of contact. Wood and stone and metal absorbed the strong emotions of the people within and while it had been too long to draw out any visions of what had occurred to upset 'Dite so, the building remembered her reaction.

Filled with concern, Karla opened the door--and stepped into a strange new place. Explicit pornography was still playing on giant teevees ringing the walls. Leather and metal and images of body parts were everywhere.

And on the desk was a package with her name on it and a very brief note: Wear it. Upon seeing what was inside, Karla was very, very tempted to walk over to the Arms and demand what the Hell 'Dite was on when she thought this was a good idea.

And then she remembered the seething anger from the door.

Next week, she decided. She'd take 'Dite to task for it next week.

Until then, 'Dite's was open and Karla was...technically dressed.

[OCD up. Dite's thread for Dite only, please, though anyone else can feel free to talk to Karla. Just assume all links are NSFW]

The Gig, Monday

Dani spent most of her day on the phone. She wasn't sure what the heck had come over the other day, but she'd made huge monetary donations to a ton of charities. The problem was that she really needed that money to pay other things, like her mortgage. So she was on the phone with the bank, trying to put a stop to payment on all the checks she'd sent out on Friday.

The Gig was open, even if she was a little distracted. Dani wasn't going to turn away paying customers.

It was a perfectly ordinary day, in as much as days at Stark's were perfectly ordinary. Ender had set up a basket for all the blood oranges in the store (having found several just underneath his seat just to start with, that morning), got all the machines running and checked all the settings.

Then he sat down with some orange juice and his laptop and settled in his utterly boring way, pausing only to pluck the occasional orange from his hoodie.

Seriously, Stark's. Seriously.

Adrian had expected a pretty normal night at work his first day back from home. And while it probably would be quiet like usual, there was no Tino. Instead, there was Jaina, who had switched shifts with Tino when she'd been out of town this weekend, and apparently had no idea that Tino had ditched out on Saturday cuz the player failed at posting it.

Even from opposite ends of the bar, all Adrian could think was shit, he'd actually have to work today.

[Had to try something new. Either person's pingable, idc.]
[identity profile] solesofmyfeet.livejournal.com
Vimes was not avoiding the trooper station by walking a beat around town. The very idea was just silly. It was just a nice day and he felt it for the best to get out and see the town.

Far, far away from Angua. And his desk.

He made a mental note to have Ralph replace his with someone else's. That would work, yes.

So, for now he was walking along, more than just a bit sad that the streets here were nowhere near as easy to read. Especially in what amounted to very nice shoes.

If anyone was looking for her, Alex could be found in the back of the store with a spell book in her lap. She was practicing random spells, trying to see which ones might be useful to her.

And hey, there were a couple of good ones to use on Justin the next time she went home. Perfect.

The Magic Box is open.
