genesisheroSpring break was nearly over, and, while Evan really hadn't intended to, he'd certainly managed to convince Vice-Principal McCoy that he was better off on Fandom Island than he probably was back there, at the Jean Grey School. Dr. McCoy had decided not to hold against Fandom the fact that it didn't offer Evan a mutant-specific education, surrounded by people that were like him.
In that other school, Evan was fairly certain there weren't other people like him. Not really.
Once he'd gotten back to the island, he'd dropped the few things that he'd packed off in his room (including the books that Wade had gotten him. Those wound up stuffed into his sock drawer, about as far back as he could get them), had put Ozzy's leash on, and had set out to the park to take him for a walk. He needed the air, and some familiar surroundings to remind him that the world kept spinning.
The company of an enthusiastic puppy didn't hurt much, either.
